Life has thrown quite a few wicked curved balls my way, with one of the biggest being infertility. I have always envisioned the success of my life as having a good job, a loving husband, and 2 children - a boy and a girl. I'm happy to have achieved the first 2, but the 2 children needed more work. We had male infertility factors and irregular ovulation. It took us 3 years and 4 rounds of IVF - 3 fresh 1 frozen - to conceive my son back in 2016. As we had spent quite a bit on IVF despite the government funding, we decided to stop trying for a #2 and leave it up to fate.

Cancer was the other curved ball. With a cancer diagnosis in 2019, I decided it was time to do another fresh cycle to preserve my fertility. I'm now waiting for clearance from my doctors to meet my 2 frozen embryos. Will one of them become my #2?

With all the curved balls sent my way, I still have plenty to be thankful for. I often marvel at how we managed to pull through with life's challenges. Many times, we felt like this is it, this is our limit, and then suddenly, something happens, and we managed to go a little bit further.
